There have been a few posting that I've seen in the thumbnail sharing forms that seem to indicate that photography isn't an art form. I understand that people have their opinions but there is something with photography that there isn't with other art forms. Like with painting or sculpting no one is a natural photographer. People need to work at the trade. I've been taking photos since I was 5 and only recently (within the past 3 years) has my photographic eye really developed.

Art forms such as painting or drawing rely on the sense of the past rather then the present. In photography you always capture the moment, freeze what you shot and keep that forever. The colors, the positions and the lights are frozen in one place. Try replicating that in a painting. Nothing will be exactly the same as a photo.

Photographers like traditional artist have their own styles. Its had to describe a photographic style but each photographer has their own.
